Hello! I’m Rachel.
M.Ed., Licensed Professional Counselor, EMDR Trained
Welcome to Zobeck Christian Counseling Services. I would love to get to know you and see how we can collaborate together on your counseling goals. I have been working in the counseling field since 2013, and it has been an honor to be trusted with the stories my clients have shared and to walk alongside them in the various seasons of their lives.
As a Christian, I believe that Jesus Christ is the ultimate source of healing, wisdom, and freedom. I have experience in incorporating spiritual discussion, Scripture, and prayer within counseling, but I will be sure to check in with you regarding what you expect and prefer.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well as other evidence-based treatment modalities; I believe our thoughts can affect our emotions and behaviors, and I often work with clients through this framework. I also enjoy helping clients build on their existing strengths and resources to achieve their goals. It is of utmost importance to me that my clients feel safe, respected, and understood in the counseling relationship.

Individual Counseling
I provide counseling for adolescents and adults. Once we decide to work together, my priority is getting to know you and ensuring you feel comfortable, safe, and heard. I’ll conduct a psychosocial assessment (I’ll ask you some questions about your past history and present situation) and create a Treatment Plan with you so that we are on the same page regarding your goals for counseling. (It’s ok if you’re not sure what your goals are yet!) Sessions are 45-55 minutes long. Most clients begin with weekly sessions, then some may move to every-other-week or monthly check-ins as needed.
Couples Counseling
Going to counseling as a couple may feel intimidating. Sometimes couples seek out counseling hoping to restore their marriage after a significant betrayal or hurt; others may want to work on communication issues and barriers to intimacy so that they can strengthen their relationship and prevent problems down the road. Either way, I acknowledge the courage it takes to show up. I work hard to remain a neutral third party and to provide a space where issues can be addressed openly, in order to support ownership, change, and healing.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer telehealth (virtual) counseling?
Yes! Many clients prefer this option as it makes counseling more accessible. I utilize a secure platform and will send you a link before your session.
How do I prepare for a telehealth session?
In order to protect your privacy and get the most out of your session, please find a secure and quiet space where you will be comfortable for about an hour. Attending a video session while driving or while interacting with other people is not ideal. You will also need to make sure you have access to internet that can support a video call.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes! I currently accept Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, and United Healthcare.
What is ‘Christian counseling?’
I use this label to indicate that I am a Christian and I find benefit in the use of prayer, Scripture, and spiritual discussion within the counseling relationship. In addition, I am trained and licensed in the state of Texas to provide Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, and other evidence-based treatment modalities. There is significant research demonstrating faith as a positive factor in mental health outcomes, and I believe all these ingredients can work together in a powerful way. I always check with my clients at the beginning of counseling about which aspects they are comfortable with, and I do not impose my own beliefs on clients. If you have any additional questions about this please feel free to contact me.
